{Wedding Couture} | Getting Organized . . . Super Organized!

So if you’ve checked out our special report for Couture Brides, you know just how important it is to get and be organized if you want to create a spectacular and unforgettable wedding. There are so many fantastic organizers available; it can often be frustrating to pick the best. Have no fear, dear bride, you can’t go wrong, as long as you pick one that suits your style and one that you like. For the do-it-yourself bride, I do have “suggestions.” Here is one I really like.

If you can relate to the Princess and the Pea story, have ever been referred to as a perfectionist or perhaps even a control freak this is for you! When perusing Henri Bendel in New York I stumbled on what I think is the absolute best of the best in wedding organizers. Russell+hazel makes all kinds of great tools for organizing your life and their wedding organizer is no exception! Their planner offers different color and design options from which to choose and you can download free wedding “worksheet” templates from www.russellandhazel.com. The website offers a wedding timeline checklist; a wedding gown and accessories order worksheet, a wedding party contact list, a vendor contact list, budget worksheet, day of wedding checklist, and many more to choose from.

Go to www.russellandhazel.com or Henri Bendel in New York and check it out for yourself, I’m sure you’ll love it as much as I do!

{Reception Couture} | Fabulous Wedding Party Idea

This is such a cute idea! Especially if you are having a vintage style or themed wedding, what better way to entertain your guest than to give them their own silhouette? I am in love with this idea and it would well for anyone as a favor or pure entertainment. Similar to caricatures drawings, but on a very elegant level, courtesy of our friends at DailyCandy.com.

Virginia Rose can cut a silhouette of your guests’ pretty punims before you can say “profile.” And the results make perfect favors that friends will cherish for years to come.

Here is the most recent release from Bruno Mars, with a song I believe to be one of the biggest upcoming hits of the wedding dance floor!

Supplies:

  • A metal saw
  • A light bulb
  • 2 screwdrivers (small and large)
  • A round file
  • Metal wire (beading or fishing wire should work)

Below are the directions translated from Esprit Cabane

  • Saw the base of the screw cap with a metal saw, turning the bulb regularly, so you remove the electrical contact part.
  • Once the base of the screw cap is cut, insert a screwdriver and break the glass tube that sticks out (be careful).
  • Then, place a larger screwdriver in the cavity of glass, pushing down firmly, so the filament is separated from the bulb.
  • With a round file, enlarge the opening and take out the filament. The bulb should be empty now.
  • To create suspended vases, drill two holes by hand on both sides of the screw cap with a drill bit. The aluminum should pierce easily.
  • Slip metal wire (or fishing wire) through the holes that you punched and tie a knot on each side (like a purse strap).
  • Then suspend the vase from a hook, or wherever you like.
  • Put a little water in the bulb and then some flowers.

Simple and chic – even I can master this beauty! If you try it out – make sure and send me pictures. I’ll incorporate this in an upcoming inspiration design and show you how to use it!
