Tango with a Tangerine :: dance partner #1 – Shiraz

When I think Shiraz, I think rich, full bodied, and rich round flavors of black cherry, blackberry, plum, bell pepper, black pepper, clove, licorice, and dark chocolate. Of course, I am thinking of the wine, but the same treatment of though can and should be applied to this intense color and it’s pairing. With such an intense starting color, our design can take us anywhere. If you’re looking for the rich, intense and rounded accents to pair with the color of the year, I’ve found a fabulous event table design for you to indulge in today.

Let’s apply our qualities of Shiraz to the linens, chair covers, and floral selections and see what we get!

Our Tangerine peppered throughout the floral design muddled with shades of plum, blackberry and black cherry in clusters retains the bright flavors to the dark linens.

Beautiful gold rimmed stemware and flatware, gold accent trays and candle holders, and gold rimmed china provide the perfect stage for our Shiraz and Tangerine tango duo to shine.

Why this works:: This design is gorgeous on the long banquet table and could easily pair with a round or square setting with a few adjustments. The custom trims and details are what truly set this table apart from the average table linens and chair covers, so it may be best suited for a family table or the bridal party table. However, trimming down some of the linen accents, while maintaining the floral display would still retain the integrity of the design which could be used more widespread throughout out your guest tables.

What I love:: I am absolutely in love with the color combination, the richness of the fabrics, the added detail touch to the chair covers and edging of the table linen. The beautiful rose perched on the vibrant napkin is also a huge favorite of mine. Finally the cluster combination of roses and orchids, instead of the widespread mix of the flowers, to me is very striking and the bold choices are what make this tablescape sensational.

What do you think? What do you LOVE about this table?

Love IT! – Who Needs White Anyway?

As I mentioned yesterday, there are so many beautifully designed dresses that saunter down the red carpet during the award season, and many of them could care less about white. For the bride, looking for something a bit different for her day, why not take a nod from these stunning dresses and glide down your aisle in something a little less white!

From subtle golden beauty to striking daring beauty, there are some many ravishing images to create and strut on your big day!

Perhaps a bit more traditional or for a second marriage, how about a sip of champagne. Check out the details in the bodice of Sandra Bullock’s Marchesa creation. Cinderella would certainly have been seen in Cameran Diaz’s choice by Oscar de la Renta.

I love rich saturated jewel tones Cruz, Weaver, Latifah and Farmiga selected.

What could be more daring than one of the most controversial dresses of the night (critics either loved it or hated it. I love the concept but believe the execution is still not all there)? Zoe sported a stunning gown in cascades of purple that I would love to see in white as well!

Ah yes, the soft and subtle beauties of the night were definitely in full force. I love the softness of each of these gowns, be they in white or their original colors here. I am a particular fan of Demi’s Atelier Versace creation!

And finally, with our current love for the dark seedy world of vampires, who could not include a few black beauties. Mariska’s Vera Wang and Kristen Stewart’s Monique Lhuillier creations certainly make these beauties tempting to taste!

What was your favorite dress of the night?

And then, of course, there are the men. But that’s another day right? Actually, there was only one really sharp look that caught my eye.

Internet Web of Inspiration – Style me Pretty Translation

While perusing some of my favorite websites this weekend for a bit of inspiration for this week’s posts, I was delighted to find this brilliant inspiration. The wedding community is a giant knowledge base of inspiration to spark my imagination and ignite new ideas and creative presentations. One such inspirational spark comes from this week’s From Inspiration to Reality blog on Style me Pretty. As I regularly follow their blog, I was pleasantly surprised when one of my favorite Passion Circle vendors, Shannon from Emplume, posted her involvement in this most recent reality creation on Facebook. So I’m sure none of you are surprised, I had to check it out and share with all of you.

The inspiration boards, created in three parts, evolved into a 40′s style glam infused with influences of the movie “The Aviator” about the legendary Howard Hughes who is as much a part of the “dreamer-can-do” spirit, history and development of Las Vegas as Bugsy Siegel. Weathered luggage, oval stationary and invitations, plumage in just the right places, rustic and antique touches all meld into a brilliant wedding vision in which I want to take part.

As we grow here at Full Circle Eventi, we continually strive to create strong connections within the wedding community to bring you work on the same caliber. Elevating our imagination to the next level. Who knows, you may see us soon featured as one such vendor on Style me Pretty, or making our own Imagination Boards a reality—iDream to iDo! Stay tuned . . . but for the present, enjoy this georgeousness to inspire you. If you’re like me and my mom, you are immediately drawn to the images, but take time to read the root of the inspirations as well!  Or get a quick overview in the video!

Olympic Beauty Inspiration

Show your spirit with gold, silver and bronze shades

Oh yes you can be inspired by the gold, silver and bronze medal beauties! I absolutely loved the eye shadow Lindsey Vonn wore while accepting her gold medal for downhill! And yes, again I’ve gone searching to show you the natural beauty she displayed with makeup that enhanced her beauty rather than covered it up. Silver medalist Julie Mancuso also subscribed to the same natural beauty style (and girls, you’ve got to love the tiara, Princess Julie to you!).

That’s what bridal beauty is all about ladies – accentuating your natural beauty, not a day to pile on false eyelashes (although, I certainly cannot live without them?), loads of shadow, blush, and bronze before you walk down the aisle. So today we’ll focus on subtle bridal beauty.

And I’m not the only one inspired by the Olympic spirit. DormRoomDivas posted her instructional bronze, silver and gold Olympic looks on Youtube.

There is a fantastic article on 29SECRETS.COM on creating the Olympic look, and I am excited to be sharing them here with you!  29Secrets.com is a fantastic website and source of inspiration, check it out!

As the Olympic Games roll into Vancouver this February, you can channel your inner athlete with makeup that takes inspiration from gold, silver and bronze medals. Going metallic is the perfect way to jazz up your mid-winter makeup routine, plus there’s a shade to match every complexion. Scared of sparkle? Read on for tips on how to rock a metallic look for day or night.

How to do metallic right:

1. Unless you want to look like you’re heading to a costume party, always keep metallic shades to just one area of the face. (And that includes nail polish!)

2. Use makeup brushes (not the sponge applicators you find in compacts) for greater precision, especially when using loose powder or glitter formulas.

3. If you think you’ve gone overboard, tone your shimmer down by smudging it with a cotton swab and layering over it with a corresponding matte shade (taupe for gold, light grey for silver, and brown for bronze).

Here’s how to rock a gold, silver or bronze shade:

Gold Rush

Best for: All skin tones.

Day-time gold: A sheer wash of gold – or champagne-coloured powder eye shadow, worn all the way up to the brow bone, will brighten up your face and bring out any eye colour.

Night-time gold: Wear a more concentrated gold cream shadow on your lids (from the lash line to the crease). Pair it with black eyeliner and mascara on your top and bottom lashes for a smoking-hot gaze. Tip: for better staying power, layer some gold powder shadow over the cream shadow.

Silver Sparkle

Best for: Dark skin tones.

Day-time silver: A simple line of silver liquid eyeliner will add some shine to your eyes without going too disco. Leave the rest of your lids bare to keep the look laidback.

Night-time silver: Up the glam factor by applying a silver cream shadow from lash line to crease. Top it off with a light dusting of a loose powder glitter product. Tip: Make sure to do this before you put on the rest of your makeup for easier clean-up in case some glitter goes astray.

Bronze Goddess

Best for: Light to medium skin tones.

Day-time bronze: Apply some bronze eye shadow on top of your regular brown eye shadow, concentrating it in the crease to really make blue or green eyes pop.

Night-time bronze: Re-create the classic smoky eye by trading in black for bronze. Start with a darker shade of bronze or brown liner along the top and bottom lash lines, and then use a shimmery bronze shadow to gradually build more colour around the eye.

Be that natural beauty on the biggest day of your life . . .

Or . . . just go for the gold, a bit extreme!

Favors for All – Gold, Silver & Bronze

In the spirit of the Olympics, I wanted to find another way to tie in influences into your wedding. So today is all about Favors! Everybody’s got them, everybody wants them, and nobody knows what to do! So here are a few medal winning ideas.

Often your place card setting can serve dual function as your favor as well as the reception guide for seating your guest. Others select edible favors as a choice. I think it’s one of the best since there are not trinkets for guest to forget or lug home. But if you want to ensure your edible favors have a stunning presence, the favor box is just as important as the delectable flavors inside.

There are also numerous adorable ideas to express love in the air. Cute heart shaped whisks and measuring spoons can be a great gift for the party. And then there are numerous whimsical and fun favors, like the grater, salad tongs, travel suitcase, shakers, and monitor dusters.

The Gold, the Silver, and the Bronze—winners base on uniqueness, originality, and fun. And just as subjective as most artistic events are in the Olympics, these are the winners, well at least for today!

(purple box, gold medal, gold key, gold box, treasure chest, pink and aqua box, lanterns, asian boxes, heart whisk)

(silver medal, wine cork, measuring spoons, grater, suitcase, salad tongs, white box, asian wine cork, diamond, shaker)

(brownie bites, jars, bronze medal, golf balls, box, bamboo chest, monitor dusters, fortune cookies, pink and black box)

. . . just a few thoughts and ideas for you to ponder. For even more ideas and savings on favors, check out Beau-Coup, one of our favorite spots to shop!
