So I am finally home, back in the dreary, grey clouded rainy skies of Michigan. I can’t say that I missed this part, but it is nice to be home and I must have brought a bit of the warmth back, because it’s unseasonably warm today…hence the rain instead of s****. I’m not saying that word just yet. We’re suppose to see some of it Thursday for Thanksgiving.
Speaking of Thanksgiving, what are your plans? Make sure to take a few minutes this week to reflect on the things you are thankful for this year. Be it getting engaged, getting married, moving into your new home with your new hubby or anything else at all, I’d love to hear what you’re thankful for!
Since I don’t fit any of the categories above this year, I thought I would reflect on something I am truly grateful for—good friends! As you know I went to the ISES LA Meet the Masters Engagement last Wednesday night and added to my good friends list. The event was beautiful, set at the Bel-Air bay Club in the Pacific Palisades Upper Clubhouse, which offers an unsurpassed view of Santa Monica Bay and Catalina Island, with Pacific Coast Highway completely hidden from view by the landscape. The view was spectacular as I was there early enough to watch the sunset over the ocean…breathtaking. The venue holds history charm and value that dates back to the 1920′s. With its recent renovations, the club is slowly being restored to its grand luster while adding modern touches to suit today’s event concerns.

Dreamy…isn’t it!

The event was set up in a social hour mixer followed by dinner at which we would get the opportunity to speak with various Masters. It had a very Speed Dating feeling to it. Each of the masters assigned to our table came and were available for questions or just to chat for 10 minutes. Unfortunately, with the size of the event, there was not feasible way to accommodate all the tables with all the Masters, so we had an assortment of 5. I didn’t have the opportunity to meet with the specific Master’s I had in mind for the evening, so I was very glad that I had gotten there early as the Master’s were arriving for the evening.
Since I snuck in bit early, I was also able to meet one of my inspirations, Nikki Kahn. Nikki is a crusader among Indian and cultural wedding planners. She creates stunning and beautiful images that are lasting for brides and grooms throughout California. I’ve always been drawn to her sense of style and innovation, looking to take from her and grow as a designer.
I also had the opportunity to meet Harmony from the Beauty Bar and Kristen Banta of Kristen Banta Events early in the evening. Both ladies are absolutely adorable and inspirational in their work. Another master I am now inspired by is Eddie Zarastian of Tick-Tock Couture Florals. In addition to being an absolute doll, he does amazing work!

The delightful surprise of my night was meeting the event designer of the evening…Rrivre Davies of Rrivre Works. Rrivre is an amazing talent with an amazing staff and a 30,000 foot playhouse for me to visit the next time I’m in town. If he can’t find it, he builds it! AMAZING, and exactly where Full Circle Eventi’s design is going! Take a look at some of the fantastic work. He built many of the furniture pieces you see and the tented structure. Why oh why can’t you be closer!

The night was fabulous and I am grateful for the nuggets of knowledge from David Tutera, Mindy Weiss, Nikki Khan, Youngsong Martin, Harmony Walton, Kristen Banta, and Rrivre Davies!

I am so grateful for all of my new friends and wedding network that is continually expanding across the globe. We came up with a great new phrase “We (Full Circle Eventi) are Michigan based, but not Michigan bound!” And thanks to our coastal reach, this is ever true!
