3.  Get Inspired. I am passionate about designing and one of the best ways to share that with you is through design imagination and inspiration boards.  I’ve let that slide in the past, concentrating on other things, but its time to get back to what I do best! Let the designing begin!

With the 2012 upon us, I’m inspired by the traditions of night and the birth of the New Year!  When I think of New Year, I think about baby new year and baby soft shades of pink peach and blush comes to mind.  But don’t forget the bubbly and festivity of another fabulous new year’s necessity – Champagne!!  So happy new year and let’s make it a super fabulous one!!

{Design Couture} | BBJ Linens, and China, and Chargers, OH MY!

The sun peeking through my Metro Detroit bedroom window this morning reminded me of Los Angeles mornings. When I opened my front door I was greeted by such warms, but once I stepped outside, I was quickly brought to the reality that I live in the blistery cold of beautiful Michigan.

My California thoughts reminded me of the oodles and oodles of new inspiration I picked up while I was there. As you know, I met up with Younsong Martin of Wildflower Linens, as well a many other FABULOUS event designers, like Rrivre Davies (Rrivre Works), David Tutera, Nikki Khan (Exquisite Events), and Harmony Walton (Bridal Bar). I also had the pleasure of popping into one of my local linen fav’s LA office—BBJ Linen.

Actually, when I was in Phoenix I had the luxury of running into them at the ABC conference and set a time to meet with a longtime online friend Kim. In addition to showing me all the new items from around the world, I was introduced to their “something new” for 2011!

In addition to continuing to bring you absolutely amazing linens, BBJ Linens has teamed up with Mandarin Orange Trading Company to supply gorgeous chargers and specialty china for my brides as well! I’m not sure they’ve exactly announced it on their website, I may be jumping the gun a bit. But I am so excited about these chargers I could burst! You want gold? We’ve got gold, and not those cheap cracked plastic gold one’s you get from most rental sources . You want purple? Take your pick! You want custom to match your linen, we can absolutely make that happen!

These are drop-dead sexy chargers, but enough of me talking…show me the good, Lia!

The sad part, is these are sooooo much more gorgeous in person than here. I can’t wait to start offering these to Full Circle Eventi’s Chicago brides and Michigan brides. Being a nationwide company, they are offering these in all their locations, so let’s get started ladies!

Let me a comment below with you’re favorite china or charger!

{Wedding Couture} | Hot! Get Your Bridesmaids’ Gifts…Beyond the Rack

If you’re like me, you are tired of the same old same old bridesmaids’ gifts. If you’ve been in anyone’s wedding (which I can say I have not), you are custom to the standard strand of pearls, charming little earrings, or personalized makeup cases. But for your designer wedding, you want to give your beautiful bridesmaids something unique, something different, something outrageous….but won’t break your wedding budget!

We’ll I’ve got a great introduction for you Michigan brides! It’s called Beyond the Rack! Here’s how it works:

It’s time to go beyond typical bridal shopping

Beyond the Rack is a private shopping club for women and men who want designer brand apparel and accessories at prices up to 70% off retail.

They get authentic designer merchandise and provide it exclusively to members through limited-time events. Each event starts at a specific time and typically lasts only 48 hours. After each event ends the merchandise is no longer available. Members are notified by email in advance of each upcoming event according to their preferences.

And here’s the CATCH! YOU NEED TO BE A MEMBER!

Membership has its privileges!

There are three ways to join Beyond the Rack:

  1. You can be invited by a friend who is already a member
  2. You can get a special invitation from one of our marketing partners
  3. You can request a membership

From time-to-time, they restrict the number of new members added to the Club, which can cause a delay in our accepting your request. So the BEST way to get access to this exclusive club is to be invited by a friend!

As your friend, wedding planner and designer, I want to get you access to coolest stuff you can purchase for your bridal party, including the guys and an extra special gift for your groom! So leave us a comment below and with your email.

Share this post with your Facebook friends as possible and I will send invitations to them as well!

I will personally send you an invitation to this exquisite shopping opportunity!!!

{BridalPlasty} | BridalPlasty – For Better Or Worse

Fabulous…another week of bride’s falling all over themselves, and others, to win the ultimate Wedding Day! While I sort of think they should have left the girls on for one full week, so we could get to know them better, they did eliminate Ashley last week. It would have been nice to get to know the girls a little bit more, as an audience, before we started knocking them out of the race towards their dream bodies and dream wedding day! I also would have love to see a Michigan bride…but that’s just me being bias as a Michigan Wedding Planner!

So for better or for worse, the vow episode. I think it’s fantastic they are going to go through several steps of planning a wedding and I love the wedding vows idea. I have one major issue with the episode and that is the Playboy Playmate and Baywatch Beauty Queen! What exactly does she have to do with writing vows? So she married a pro football player that certainly does not make her an expert or a reference point for these ladies. I did like the celebrity wedding planner’s presence, but I don’t feel they used her, or at least highlighted her better to give viewing brides tips on writing their vows as well! I would love them to give 3 tips to those watching on each of the sections. I believe it would turn the episodes from just being a “reality” show to something beneficial for brides watching as well!

I don’t think that it ended up exactly the way they envisioned it, especially with the men being pre-recorded for their setups. The women were thinking about their actually vows, and the guys were really just thinking about what they want. It’s definitely a different scenario than actually speaking your vows in front of all your family and friends. I think if the guys had been coached a little better, instead of being asked what they want to hear their bride say, the vows would have aligned much better. A woman speaking from her hearts is going to end up in a much different result than the boys joking on a video chat.

It’s nice to see the former beauty queen contestant isn’t just a beauty and she really does know her fiancé. But I do feel like many of the girls that she doesn’t have much to change other than her nose…and now that that is done, what other surgery can she win in the next few weeks? Her situation alone validates an article I read on ABC.com about Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD). BDD is a psychiatric condition in which patients are preoccupied with perceived flaws that can never be fixed. While it’s certainly not uncommon for brides to have “stuff” done before their wedding, like Botox, the question is, does the show become a cheerleader for women with unrealistic expectations and are doing it for someone else and not themselves? I would wonder whether these contestants have BDD. Only time will tell I guess.

RSVP ceremony is a nice and unique addition that I think will be much better overall.

I was very sad to see Jessica leave the show. I believe she was a great contestant, nothing like Janessa (whom I still CANNOT STAND!).

I also love Jessica’s attitude towards the final outcome and know that she will get what she really wants in life! I wish her the best and can’t wait to get the update, which I’m sure will be coming towards the end of the show, on her big day!

I want to hear you’re thoughts on the series!  Leave me a comment below or check in on Facebook!
