Mod Cupcake Inspiration

Good morning!

Welcome to 2012. If you’re a 2012 bride you’re probably well into your planning and design of your wedding. If not, get a move on it girl! (ha, ha)

So in your planning and designing process, what did you do? Are you relying on images and pictures from well known magazines, like the Knot, Get Married, Brides, or a local wedding magazines?  Or has Google become your best friend with hours spent searching for you colors in images?  Do you have an image in your head from when you were a little girl that you just knew is exactly what you wanted? Do you watch endless episodes of David Tutera’s My Fair Wedding, I Do Over! or Bridezilla for inspiration? Or did you hire a professional, florist, designer, planner, to realize you thoughts into an unforgettable event?

I WANT to hear from you, what you’re doing to make your designer day spectacular?

For me, inspiration comes in many shapes and sizes and often from unexpected things. Do you have a favorite picture in your house? A favorite scarf, rug, book or movie? Of course we are all familiar with how our favorite colors become inspiration for our weddings, hence the bride’s favorite color is almost always one in the color choices for the wedding.

So, try incorporating things in your life that you LOVE to guarantee your day is as special as you are!

{Design Couture} | Happy Valentine’s Day 2011

Happy Valentine’s Day!

While the sun isn’t exactly shining here in Michigan, it’s still a great day to celebrate a longstanding and beautiful little day. But as many of us know, it is a “commercial holiday.” But really what does this mean. Well for many guys, it’s a cheap way of saying it’s not a real holiday (code for, I forgot to buy a present), but for women everywhere it’s a day for being showered with love. Who cares if the Hallmark people got a holiday passed so they can sell cards and candy…it’s a day and I’m going to enjoy it!

I thought about designing an wedding décor inspiration board today to capture the essence of this special day, but then I jumped over to my dear friend Fri’s site (WeddingNouveau) and new that she had captured my thoughts exactly for today. I love non-traditional color combinations and this azure and ruby board hit the spot.

If you’re not familiar with her FAB site, you are missing out. Especially all you multicultural brides! Thanks Fri for your superb and exquisite taste to get the creative ideas flowing!

Imagination Couture | I dream in Pink Purple and Blue Moroccan Inspiration

Every so often, you can catch me perusing the boards on websites like The Knot, Wedding Wire, Get Married, and Brides. In one chat room a bride mentioned she was contemplating the idea of a Moroccan themed wedding. Honestly, I can’t imagine anything more delightful! What a wonderful thing to choose and there are so many possibilities and ways the theme can be realized. I’ve created one Moorish themed imagination board in previous designs, but the possibilities of color combination and elements to realize your dreams are endless. So, as the bride mentioned in her post, she was thinking about pink and blue for her inspiration.

Spark of Imagination | Touch of Blue

Recently I was meeting with a fantastic florist, when she asked me to give my opinion on how to decorate an upcoming wedding. You know I am always up for giving advice. The color palette was simply white with a touch of cobalt blue. Wow, what a striking combination. An entire white room with hints of blue smattered throughout. Small pin lights to highlight the stunning all white centerpieces and textured table of white. The only color on the table stems from the stunning blue chargers and glasses.

So, I got a bit inspired. It’s been a while since I actually got a Spark of Imagination out to you, so here is one with just a touch of blue . . .

So what do you think? I’d love to hear what you love about this . . . and even what you don’t.
