{Wedding Couture} | Putting Your Stamp On It!

Engagement photos are a blast, and they seem to be showing up more and more on Save-the-Date cards and magnets. But let’s take it a step further…besides, you have so many great shots, why not get them in print. From the moment your guest receive your invitation, they know right away this is a special event because you and your hubby to be are commemorated in your own personalized stamp.

Yes, there are tons of cute stamps out there for you to use on your wedding day, Zazzle.com has a great assortment. And then there is always the trusted hearts and rings from USPS. But for a moment, let’s get famous. Idolized like Elvis, Mickey Mouse, Tinkerbell, and Lucille Ball, you and your partner can have stamps dedicated just to you.

There are a few companies that allow you to create your own stamp, but my favorite is Picture It Postage. Unlike competitors, like Stamps.com and Zazzle.com, your postage features you not the branding of the company. You can select any photo you like and for you computer savvy brides, you can download a small application that allows you to design on your PC. You can then pick the perfect color for your stamp background that matches the colors on your stationary, through color codes.

Compared to the branding on the ones below, Picture It Post is much nicer (above).

Like Stamps.com and Zazzle.com, Picture It Postage allows you to also display text on your stamps images. Above are the stamps I recently created and ordered for one of my couples using Picture It Postage, and we were all very pleased with the outcome.

I just love infusing a wedding from start to finish with you, the couple…and this is a fantastic way to start.

{Bridal Couture} | Classic Elegance – Nicole Miller Bridal

I’m not usually a big Nicole Miller wedding gown fan. For me, her dresses are perfect for a light, simple and destination wedding. They are classic and could actually be worn again, unlike many of our wedding dresses. BUT at this year’s Fashion Week in New York, she debuted some beautiful, simple yet elegant dresses I could actually picture on a few brides. Her dresses are sophisticated and perfect for the bride looking for a streamline appearance without all the frills.

These are my favorites.

{Bridal Sutra}|Exquisite Bridal Jewelry

The perfect look demands to be accentuated it with the perfect jewels.  I love heirloom jewelry passed down from moms to daughters. But with all the modern interracial marriages, often heirloom jewelry is not available to the non-Indian bride. Where else can you turn?

Golden gems from Tanishq, the leading designer jeweler of India, is a fantastic place to start.

According to Tanishq, bridal jewelry is all about the details.  Most brides will adorn necklaces and earrings of varying sizes and styles but it is the extra pieces of accent jewelry that brides are paying more attention to these days.  The Tikka, the kamar patta, armlet, payals and toe rings are back in a big way!

I adore these images highlighting extra special bridal jewelry details.

Another fantastic resource is Art Karat. Of course we’ve mentioned them before, because the jewelry is just downright stunning, but they are constantly bringing new and breathtaking pieces to the table. Check out their ad for the fall! GEORGEOUS!

Someone else new that’s come across my desk is Blossom Box. I am most definitely a bangles girl, and they have some of the best on the arm! Check out some of my favorites, and hit up their Facebook Fan page for more stunning inspiration.

There is plenty of inspiration out there, the question is, how much do you want? I am jewelry enthusiast, so I can never get enough! How about you ladies?

{Bridal Couture} | Opulence, Decadence…St. Erasmus Bridal Jewelry

{Above: Images via Harper’s Bazaar – Sep 2010; Dresses by Indian designer Suneet Varma Couture ; Jewelry by South African designer St. Erasmus}

I am so happy to have friends like Fri who are always on the edge of creativity and inspirational! Her amazing blog, Wedding Nouveau, never ceases to overwhelm me with stunning images.

I’ll tell you a little secret. I’ve always flipped through the pages of a magazine from front to back to scour the images, way before I stop to read the articles. And I find myself doing the same things when it comes to blogs…hence most of my blogs are filled with images to capture your eye, way before you read it. So, I am never disappointed when Fri’s email pops up in my inbox, leading me to what I know will be downright amazing imagery. And boy did Fri give me good stuff today!

Unlike many other Americans who ogled over the asymmetrical gem of a necklace First Lady Michelle Obama wore in 2009, I was not at all familiar with the work of South African designer – Pieter Erasmus until Fri introduced me. Thank you!

{My favorite necklace by far}

Pieter’s sophisticated and bold style finds its roots in heritage and high-end luxury: a fusion of culture and craftsmanship.  After honing his skills as a high-end jeweler designer for such names as Givenchy, Alexander McQueen, and Roberto Cavalli, Pieter decided to expand his unique talents into the creation for St. Erasmus.  His successful venture and our good fortune of one part bohemian, one part ethnic, and 100% Goddess glam.

Everything in St-Erasmus’ collection requires impeccable levels of flawless craftsmanship. His instantly recognizable three-dimensional statement of style with sophisticated feminine edges screams of refined modern opulence. Using traditional artisan productions techniques, a wide range of elements including Swarovski crystals, metallic crochets, floral shapes and beading are constructed into intricately layered bib-style necklaces, long length necklaces, cocktail rings, cuffs, brooches and earrings.  These ethnic glam pieces are inspired by the details of African diasporas and the boundless emotion of vintage Bollywood style.

Pamper your inner goddess with a secret publicly celebrated by this collection.

And for that touch of blue… a beautifully elegant crystal broach, perfect for your dress or your hair.

“Timeless style over disposable fashion” – That’s the driving force behind St. Erasmus.  Now that’s what I call: Nouveau Style.

Thanks Fri again, for sharing!
