It’s Christmas Time

Ok, not quite yet, but time for a trip to the post office to mail off some Christmas cards! I don’t normally send cards, but this year I got connected with a Christmas card exchange with a bunch of brides and vendors around the country. I thought it was a great opportunity to meet new people nationwide, and to my delight, I got a Canadian in my group as well.

The exchange is arranged by The Brooklyn Bride, Vané Broussard. This is the 3rd annual exchange and includes a cookie recipe.

I worked up to the deadline to get the cards I wanted, and am overall happy with the results. Being culturally centered, I wanted to ensure our company Christmas card reflected our multicultural background. I also stepped outside the box, and chose to send my favorite Christmas good recipe instead of a cookie recipe. It is an Italian dish-Pannetone Bread Pudding, yum!

The cards started with a base structure of circles.  “Merry Christmas” encompasses the interior circle in 15+ languages.  The middle message reads “Merry Christmas, from our culture to yours”.  The exterior circle features two ornament shaped globes with a world flag ribbon.  From there the details differ to make each of them one of a kind unique.  The ethnic floral pin allows the circles to swivel open and different swirls surround the globes.
It was a fun project, and a great introduction into custom card design, since we were required to hand make the cards. I can’t wait to see the invitations my group sent to me. I can see this becoming an annual tradition for Full Circle Eventi!
